Professor Susan Allen, in collaboration with Jose Lozano from the Ithaca Area Wastewater Treatment Facility, was just awarded a two-year $40,000 grant from the Park Foundation to continue her work on microplastics in the southern portion of the Cayuga Lake watershed. This research will focus on identifying important sources of microplastics; including air, sediment, snow, and wastewater treatment effluent. The funds will be used to fund fieldwork, laboratory work, and undergraduate research positions.
